The TENEBRA concept is the hero “car + spaceship/fighter jet like” of a story I developed around a character I came up with,VOID (a physicist who inherited that name thanks to his work around black holes), themed around the fascination and space-time. All though most of it is only fictional, I do not improvise myself physicist or such. I based myself off real mathematical & physical calculations, theories, to have a realistic base that I interpreted on my own way later on for the plot, thanks to all the people who worked on them. Only for the project purposes, as the chances of such thing happening in real life are not foreseeable anytime soon because of all the immesurable difficulties that such an experiment would face. I chose such brief for my masters to have the possibility to link all my passions into one single project and imagine every single aspect of it, Mainly the Automotive/Sci-fi vehicle design but also the story development, the character design, the world building and story telling.

THE PLOT    

In the end of the 30th century, a major event started really worrying the most intelligent astro-physicists and scientist all over the world, and a worldwide effort was needed to adress the issue. It was already taking place since a long time, immensely impacted the way humanity was developing and living. A dying neighboring star collapsed into a massive black hole, which caused a shockwave of radiation that disrupted our solar system, destabilizing our sun and the consequences of that on earth were devastating. No body has detected it earlier due to the relative distance to earth.

As a result, we lost a considerable part of the population, but not as bad as it could've been thanks to the space colonization that were rapidly developing since a while now but there was a major issue, producing enough energy to supplement all these colonies that kept growing, alongside few space cities that allowed the urgent evacuation of most impacted areas.  However VOID was already working onto a solution for that, the creation of a gravitational engine that uses a black hole big enough to be used as an energy source or a way of constantly producing small ones in a chain for that goal.

As laws of physics do not allow fast than light travel, the solution has to be else where, and that brought him back centuries ago where a theoretical warp-drive was hypothesized which would allow such thing as you are not traveling through space-time, instead you are bending it and contracting it which makes FTL* travel achievable.


Thanks to the advancements in Tokamaks* ,the discovery of a negatively massed material in outer space, and others major breakthroughs, we could produce the immense energy needed for the compression and the requirements of the experiment.   The final adjustments for this, were taking place and it was about to potentially, revolutionize once again the world of physics as know it, thanks to advancements in material science, spatial discoveries and the outstanding hunger of humans for innovation.
The day has come and the experiment was flowing in the right direction... the neutronium was compressing as intended, hitting its Schwarzschild* radius and at that point.. the first ever black hole created by man kind was born. VOID couldn't believe it nor hold his excitement. However quickly, things were getting dicey, as it kept growing far beyond what was predicted, because of a malfunction in the systems that lead to a non stopping supply of matter instead of stabilizing it.

The next step which is the implementation of that into a first test engine on a car , for validation as an energy source, had to be postponed. It kept growing, and eating all matter around it, but it ended up absorbing everything, including VOID himself.. However since there was no more matter around it, the black hole vanished rapidly because of the hawking radiation* which explains how VOID was still alive, but in an unknown part of the universe ..
He later found himself in some weird like exo-planet*, which seems to ressemble vague informations we had about a planet named TRAPPIST-1e which is around 39.5 light years away from earth, nearby the Aquarius constellation, which has similar properties to earth, and orbits TRAPPIST-1, a red-dwarf*


-Schwarzschild radius*: the point that any compressed matter has to reach to form a black hole. -Hawking radiation*: Black holes continuously radiate and lose their mass until they vanish. -As an exemple the black hole's size needed to produce 15MW of power across a year constantly is around 17.8 cm -Tokamak*: A magnetic confinement device that explores the creation of energy through nuclear fusion -FTL*: Faster-than-light - Exo-planet*: A planet orbiting a star outside our solar system - Tau Ceti*: A real sun-like star in the Cetus constellation -Red Dwarf*: A low-mass, ultra-cool star that burns its fuel at a microscopic fraction of the rate of our Sun
